This is the only section on the board where spoliers can be mentioned without punishment. So, if you haven't caught up yet, and don't want to spoil the ending of the book, don't read anything in here.

As the name suggests, ForestClan lives amongst the trees, even more so than most clans. The ground itself is very easy to navigate, as there is not much in the way of undergrowth, despite the landscape being quite sunny. The trees of the forest grow their branches in such a manner that it is easily possible for a ForestClan cat to make a full patrol of the territory without ever having to touch the ground. The closest branch on any tree is at least two fox-lengths high, and the branches themselves vary from thick to thin and long to short. All of the trees have lots of leaves, sometimes even in leaf-bare. ForestClan loves their trees so much, that their very camp is off the ground, the dens resting within a very sturdy, very wide tree. The forests here are dark and foreboding. The trees grow close together, but are spread far enough apart that cats can navigate. What makes this territory so unnerving to intruders is the darkness. The canopy of the trees is so thick that much of the sunlight is blocked out. This prevents even grass from growing on the forest floor, leaving nothing but cold dirt. Even in leaf-bare, the sunlight is blocked due to the thick, heavy vines which wrap about the treetops, catching leaf-litter. DarkClan's camp is in the darkest section of the forest, within a ring of thick trees. The canopy is at it's lowest point here, and walls of vines hide the entrance very well. (equiv. to ShadowClan)

Once again, the name of the clan also fits the territory. Rushes, reeds, and sedges are very common here, and many of them grow through all the seasons. The marsh changes with each season, making invasion difficult. In new-leaf, the land has thick streams and wide pools. In greenleaf, there is almost always flooding, and during these times it is nearly impossible to find dry land. In leaf-fall, the land is covered with shallow water that makes sneaking around very difficult. In Leaf-bare, the land is almost fully drained, save for a few pools that survive the frost, and during this time the rushes and sedges make the entire territory seem like a giant maze. MarshClan's camp is located on the highest patch of ground, a place where it can survive the floods of greenleaf without getting damp. (equiv. to RiverClan)

A vibrant grassland dominates the vast majority of BreezeClan's territory. Much of the land is flat and open, but there is more here than meets the eye. The grass itself ranges from long to short, and sometimes gives off the appearance that there are rolling hills from a distance. Shrubs and the occasional small tree grow here, and there are scoops in the ground, some of which are difficult to find because of the long, thick grass that makes it look like an even stretch of ground. One would think that such a scoop would be the perfect place for the cats of BreezeClan, but their camp actually occupies one of the few nolls that dot the landscape. The top of the noll appears flat from a distance, much like the territory itself, but it also gives way to a shallow scoop perfect for dens. (equiv. to WindClan)

At the center of the five territories is The Ruins. Much of the ruins serves as a clearing, but there are several broad, flat stones scattered about the area, most of which are squared off the way a piece of a twoleg nest might look. Some of these stones are at odd angles with the ground, and all around the clearing, the walls, though crumbling and covered with vines, are at least half a fox-length high, and are bordered by huge, branchless stone trees. At the very center of the clearing is a tall, square stone where the leaders will sit and make their announcements during Gatherings. (equiv. to The Island)

The Mooncave is located outside the territories, but to get there one must travel along the ForestClan and StoneClan border. The cave is surrounded by thick foliage, and thick vines hide the entrance. The tunnel goes back for quite a distance before suddenly opening up into a large cavern. At the far side of the cavern is a pool of water, fed by an underground stream, a small opening in the top of the cavern allows moonlight to shine down directly upon the pool of water. This is where Medicine Cats come to share tongues with StarClan, and Leaders come to recive their nine lives. (equiv. to Moonpool)
